Christmas videos from Rudy & I

I have never been very good at making videos, but there was a time that I did try. For all my readers who celebrate Christmas and also appreciate Rudolph Valentino ... this is for you.

I decided to pull up three of the Christmas videos I did in past years. The photos were tinted by my old photo specialist, who has since passed on. I am trying to emulate his technique in the photos I post in my current blog posts ... but his talent is difficult to even come close to ... for me, at least.

At this point, I am experimenting with backgrounds, and this presents even more of a challenge for me because I really dislike the new AI look many of the videos have. So ... these are old, but I enjoy them. I hope you do, as well. The singers, alone, are wonderful and rather 'vintage' themselves!

Here is the first holiday video I ever created. This video I named 'Holiday Glow.' The jazzy little song is called 'I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm.' It is performed by Bette Midler and comes off her Christmas album.

This next video I made I call "Rudy's Christmas Tango." This sultry number is called "Tango Me For Christmas." It is performed by Maria Volanté.

The final video I am presenting in this Christmas blog post I called ''questo giorno di giorni' (this one day of days). I got the translation wrong in the video, but it is what it is. At the time, I was in the early stages of learning Italian. I am only marginally better, at this point! The song is "Thank God It's Christmas.' It is performed by the iconic band Queen, with lead vocals by the unforgettable Freddie Mercury.

Although I am a Pagan, I respect all faiths and spiritual paths. As a child, I was raised in the Old Methodist religion, so I am very familiar with what is taught in that faith. As I grew into an adult, my curiosity caused me to explore as many other beliefs as I could. I learned, read the Bible and other books of faith and absorbed as much as possible. I finally decided that Paganism was the path which suited me best.

In no way does this ever mean I put down others' faiths. I am always up for a conversation about any topic when it comes to faith-based subjects. I don't argue, though. I don't debate. I will discuss and when a point is made that I feel is valid, I will acknowledge it. That is who I am and will always be, so far as I can see. I'm glad that is who I am, because what I am seeing in our current society is NOT people who act that way. If the rude shoppers, the self-absorption I see on the media and in person when I go someplace, or listen to what my son tells me after he has been out is true, then I have to believe that things are not as they should be. This makes me sad.

In the above song, Freddie sings about peace and goodwill for 'just one day.' Of course that is symbolic, but the truth is that we can't have decency toward each other just for Christmas Day. We will destroy each other sooner or later during the rest of the year. My life is two-thirds over. But what about the future generations? Will they look back to our lives and times and think we were nothing but the selfish part of humanity they had to overcome? I hope not. I hope there are enough of us out there to turn this all around.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS. Even if it really is for just this day.
