She went through a lot. Racism often affected her work and she moved to Paris where she was worshipped by many. She was a part of the March on Washington for Civil Rights in the 1960's. She told her story to many and had what she called her Rainbow Family. She adopted quite a few children and ended up poor in the end. She had many mental breakdowns due to her losing her castle she had invested in. I would have loved to have met her. She was a loving woman to many.
