Lambani/Banjara are nomadic peoples of Rajasthan. They are believed to be the ancestors of the Roma people or Gipsies. They work in domestic and field work mostly. The women embroider beautiful art to wear and sell when the usage wears down. We as dancers buy these to wear for our dancing when doing American Tribal Style®. I am making my own design for my June special since YouTube has demystified most of this embroidery for me already. This documentary is in Hindi but is subtitled.
